Insurance

Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Employee Benefit Pool (TML IEBP)

  • Workers compensation (TML)
  • Health and Dental:
    • Full-time regular employees are 100% covered by the City for health, dental and vision (AVESIS)
    • Employee may select dependent coverage and pays 100% of cost for dependent coverage
  • Life insurance through The Standard ($15,000)
    • Optional additional life insurance up to 3 times employee's annual salary paid by employee
    • Optional life insurance for dependents; employee pays 100% of cost
  • Short term disability insurance (Standard Insurance)
  • Supplemental insurance (AFLAC and/or NFC):
    • City does not supplement cost; employees choice of insurance

Retirement

Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS)

  • All Regular Full: Time Employees:
    • 7% employee contribution
    • City matches 2 to 1 after employee is vested

Time Off

    • 32 hours each calendar year
    • 48 hours each calendar year for fire
  • Vacation:
    • Regular full-time employees:
      • 0 to 24 Months: 3.06 hours per pay period (up to 80 hours per year)
      • 25 to 48 Months: 4.61 hours per pay period (up to 120 hours per year)
      • 49 to 120 Months: 6.15 hours per pay period (up to 160 hours per year)
      • 121 to 180 Months: 7.69 hours per pay period (up to 200 hours per year)
      • Over 180 Months: 9.23 hours per pay period (up to 240 hours per year)
    • Regular 24 hour shift firefighter:
      • 0 to 24 Months: 4.61 hours per pay period (up to 84 hours per year)
      • 25 to 48 Months: 6.92 hours per pay period (up to 120 hours per year)
      • 49 to 120 Months: 9.23 hours per pay period (up to 160 hours per year)
      • 121 to 180 Months: 11.53 hours per pay period (up to 200 hours per year)
      • Over 180 Months: 13.85 hours per pay period (up to 240 hours per year)

Longevity Pay

  • $5 per month for each full month employed after 1 year service
