The City of Princeton Fire Department will host Station #3 Grand Opening
New Aerial Ladder Apparatus Push-In Ceremony
Princeton, Texas: On Friday, July 9th the Princeton Fire Department will host a Station Opening and Apparatus Push-In Ceremony at Fire Station No. 3, located at 1100 Myrick Lane at 10:00am. Many decades ago, firefighters had to push the hand and horse-drawn fire apparatus into the station upon its maiden arrival and after each use. Following traditions dating back before 1800, the Princeton Fire Department will “push” the new Aerial Ladder Apparatus into its new home with the help of those in attendance.
The station will be staffed with one fire engine, a Fire Captain, three full-time fire fighters and supported by part- time and volunteer fire fighters. Which will improve emergency response coverage for Hwy 380 from West City limits to 2nd Street (FM 982) and everything South with some of the western portion of the City North of Hwy 380 to be included as new access roads are completed.
“This new station, its apparatus, and the firefighters who will work here represent the quality and professionalism that we are building this Department on. Our mission is to provide a quicker response with the services, capability, and competence that the community can be both proud of, and count on, in the event we are called upon to assist you in your time of need. These services include advanced life support, all hazards fire protection, fire prevention, code enforcement, and public education.” Says Tom Harvey, Fire Chief, Princeton Fire Department.
A commemorative souvenir and refreshments will be provided as well as a tour of the facility after the ceremony. Seating and parking is limited.
