NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed bids addressed to the City of Princeton Purchasing Department, Attn: Derek Borg, City Manager, will be received at the Purchasing Office, 123 W. Princeton Drive, Princeton, Texas 75407 until 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2016, for the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the following projects: COMMUNITY PARK HIKE & BIKE TRAIL The sealed bid envelopes shall be clearly marked on the outside with the project name, and the bid opening time/date. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2016, in the Council Chambers, Princeton Municipal Complex, and 123 W. Princeton Drive, Princeton, Texas 75407. Facsimile, electronic and late bids will not be accepted. The scope of work includes: The replacement of existing pavement in the Prairie Creek Hills subdivision. Bidders must submit with their bids a Cashier’s Check in the amount of 5% of the maximum amount of the base bid, payable without recourse to the City of Princeton or a Proposal Bond in the same amount from a reliable Surety Company as guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute bond and guarantee forms provided within ten (10) days after receipt of notice of award. Contract will be awarded at the Monday, March 28, 2016, at the City of Princeton City Council Meeting. Simultaneously with delivery of the executed contract on Monday, April 11, 2016, the successful Contractor shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price and a Maintenance Bond for two (2) years in the amount of one hundred (100%) of the final contract price from a Surety Company satisfactory to the City and holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as a Surety. Bidders are expected to inspect the site of the work and to inform themselves regarding local conditions under which the work is to be done. Attention is called to the provisions of the Acts of the 43rd Legislature of the State of Texas and subsequent amendments concerning the wage scale and payment of prevailing wages specified. Not less than the general prevailing wage rates of per diem in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft or type of workman or mechanic as set forth in the contract documents must be paid on the project. A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting shall be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2016, in the Council Chambers at the City of Princeton Municipal Complex, 123 W. Princeton Drive, Princeton, Texas 75407. As of February 25, 2016, plans with specifications may be emailed to requestors or examined without charge at the office of Kimley-Horn and Associates, 106 West Louisiana Street, McKinney, Texas 75069. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. No bidder may withdraw a bid within 90 days after actual date of the opening thereof.
