Princeton firefighters are constantly training. This training is performed while they are on duty, at regularly scheduled meetings, and through formal institutions and organizations who support the fire service. The training can be focused on specific certification classes designed to increase their level of knowledge and ability as well as refresher training designed to maintain the qualifications and skills they currently possess. All volunteers joining our ranks must complete a minimum amount of training before they are allowed to respond to emergencies and take action. Our training is regulated by local, state, and national standards. We follow the State Firemen’s and Fire Marshal’s Association (SFFMA), the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP), and the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) guidelines.
