School Resource Officers

The Princeton Police Department School Resources Officer Program (SROs) is an important link between the City of Princeton and the Princeton Independent School District. Our School Resource Officers are officed inside Princeton schools and are a great resource for staff and students alike. The SRO fulfills three roles by using a triad approach, acting as a law enforcement officer, an informal counselor, and a law-related presenter. Of course as a law enforcement officer their primary purpose is to “keep the peace.” To learn more about the roles of the SRO, please visit the National Association of School Resource Officers and read its publication, “To Protect & Educate.”  The SROs also coordinate and manage all the city’s Youth Programs.
